This page provides more detail about some of the tasks and responsibilities of each possible volunteer role. The descriptions below are not exhaustive, and therefore, you may be assigned additional tasks based on the needs of your station.
Further instructions will be provided to volunteers at each station. Importantly, additional roles may become needed during the meeting that are currently unlisted.

Remote Roles Prior to Meeting
Digital Access Support
This role will assist with reviewing meeting content submitted to the virtual platform prior to the meeting. Meeting content may include but is not limited to PDF documents, slides, videos, transcripts, and other related content. Volunteers will need to have 8 hours available to them from Friday, October 8 until Friday, October 22, must have access to Adobe Acrobat Professional as well as Microsoft Office Suite to utilize the accessibility checkers of these programs, and will be asked to keep track of content reviewed and hours completed.

Roles on Multiple Days
Role: Meeting Exhibit Hall Support
- No Wednesday
- No Sunday
This role will be stationed in the meeting exhibit hall. Volunteers will be assisting Association Staff with the Association Booth, taking photos with the backdrop, walking around the hall to assist attendees find booths, and helping with teardown.

Role: Meeting Check-in/Registration Desk Support
This role will welcome and register meeting attendees and distribute meeting collateral (including the Program At-a-Glance) to attendees who redeem a program ticket/purchase a standard registration. Volunteers will act as runners as necessary to post information, pass messages or gather necessary materials for the smooth operation of the Check-in/Registration desk.

Role: Meeting Info Desk Support
This role will serve a customer service role in a team setting at information desk to assist meeting attendees. Volunteers will work as partners and swap between serving from the information desk and roaming the general registration area floor to answer questions, which may include giving directions as well as providing schedule and program information.

Role: Accessibility Support Volunteer
This role supports increased accessibility at the AAA Annual Meeting. Volunteers will work directly with the AAA Accessibility & Meetings Manager to support any access tasks necessary to complete and attendees with access needs. They are required to be or become well-acquainted with best accessibility practices.

Thursday Roles
Role: AAA Business Meeting Support
This role will act to stop attendees WITHOUT a badge from entering the ballroom. Staff need additional assistance to ensure anyone from entering without a badge. Volunteers will also hand out voting cards to attendees with the correct color badge lanyard.

Friday Roles
Role: NAPA/AAA Career Expo Support
This role will be stationed on the exhibit hall show floor to assist Career Expo Organizer with checking in individuals and directing them to the appropriate table top booth. NAPA/AAA Career Expo is NOT an interview session; please inform any attendees who may ask that Career Expo is primarily an informational session on the available positions in the practicing and applied fields of anthropology.

Saturday Roles
Role: ACE Showcase Support
This role will assist with various activities at the ACE Showcase, including: assisting moderators by reading questions provided by audience members, assisting with the needs by department chairs for the department showcase, and assisting with the Student Saturday welcome event.
